The next coffee shop I wanted to venture to was Convive Coffee Roastery. This one has a special place in my heart since it is located where I grew up. Needless to say I was very excited to try this place.

Location: Finding Convive Coffee Roastery was easy to follow on google maps. Seeing bold green, yellow, and brown letters plastered on a red brick building, spelling out Convive, reassures individuals that they have located the correct place. Convive is among many shops in a long brick building right in the middle of the McCandless crossing plaza. It faces another long building of shops directly parallel. When driving in between both buildings parking can be a little tricky with the narrow road and tight parking spaces. Driving on the other side of the Convive building, the parking lot opens up with more accessibility to additional parking spots ready for the picking.

Rating: 4/5 ..due to the slight confusing parking situation if you are not familiar with McCandless Crossing Plaza

Trick/Tip: Busy plaza in general so parking on the side with the Cinema is best. You won't be able to miss the cinema with its big red letters....you're welcome

Ambience:

Light: The lighting is very bright with natural light illuminating the main room from the front and back full walls of windows. There are also many lights propelling from the ceiling for additional lighting to help out on gloomy days.

Rating: 5/5 ...due to the natural light that made this place feel inviting, and yet it was not too overpowering at the same time.

Trick/Tip: The whole place is very bright, so any seating option is good...you're welcome

Seating: A long wooden bench extends the whole length of the wall off to the one side. Metal chairs oppose the wooden bench with glazed wooden tables in between that are scattered throughout in no particular order. Comfy chairs are located on the wall near the back door next to a fireplace. Outside are white metal chairs and tables for additional seating on a nice sunny day.

Rating: 5/5 ...due to the many different seating options because who doesn't like options?

Trick/Tip: The comfy chairs in the back corner next to the fire place are a perfect place to sit on a cold, gloomy day...you're welcome

Sound: Upbeat music was playing that seemed to hit your ears and bounce around in your head loud enough to hear the words of the artist, but not loud enough to drown out the people scattered around the room. Chatter filled the air with people talking from across the tables. The acoustics in the room were not very good due to being able to hear everybody’s conversations.

Rating: 4/5 ...due to being able to hear everybody’s conversations and not a lot of privacy

Trick/Tip: Sit towards the back since there is more private seating options behind a small wall, or bring your headphones so you don't have to listen to the conversation of the couple sitting next you...you're welcome

Inviting: The baristas were friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. They also were talking and laughing with one another which matched the atmosphere of the people around the room.

Rating: 5/5 ...due to the comfortable and fun atmosphere

Trick/Tip: The baristas are very friendly. If you engage in conversation some will even discuss fun coffee facts with you...you're welcome

Drink/Food: The coffee options consisted of classic options of lattes, americanos, etc. along with specials such as seasonal options and store blends. Food options such as muffins, bagels, scones, and more were offered but nothing more than usual baked goods.

Rating: 4/5 ...due to lack of vast assortment of food options besides typical baked goods

Trick/Tip: This place has many awesome seasonal fall specials. The cider and chia lattes are amazing. All lattes come with fun latte art as well, so, make sure your camera phone is working and fully charged for those pictures you know you will be uploading to Instagram or Snapchat...you're welcome

Overall, I give this coffee shop a 4 out of 5 rating. It was a chill working environment that also seemed like a fun place to catch up with a friend. However, maybe not a good place for a date since literally everybody can hear your conversation if you are the only ones talking. The coffee choices were pretty diverse which really made this coffee shop stand out along with the company's own roastery sitting in the corner.
