Sticking to the Cranberry to Wexford, PA area there is another mom and pop coffee shop that is not as hidden as some of the other coffee shops I have visited in my blog. This coffee shop is always bumping with people and has a good rep with the local community. We are heading to Generoasta Coffee for this blog post.
Location: Generoasta Coffee is located in Warrendale smack dab in the middle of Cranberry and Wexford, which are two counties in the western Pennsylvania area. It was very easy to find and follow on google maps and parking is not a problem at all. This coffee shop rests at the end of one major building complex after coming in from the stoplight. The big parking lot allows you to park anywhere with no concern about finding a spot in front of the building.
Rating: 5/5 …due to having a great parking lot that was easy to get in and many available spots
Trick/Tip: There is a mini parking lot right next to the building on the right. If it’s a cloudy day with rain on the horizon, these parking spots are ones for the taking…you’re welcome
Ambience:
Light: The lighting in the room mostly came from the natural light from the windows with help from the tiny lights propelling from the ceiling. The darker corners in the room where the natural light did not hit, such as the booth area, had extra light provided by hanging lamps.
Rating: 5/5 ...due to adequate natural light along with extra light in areas where the natural light did not hit.
Trick/Tip: If you do not want glare on your computer from natural light then sit in the booth seating…you’re welcome
Seating:
There were many chairs and tables of different sizes and shapes. Booth seating rested on the far back wall and comfy lounge chairs outlining the whole room. The 3 interesting tables scattered throughout the room were the counter table, thanksgiving table, and the fireplace table. The counter table had an alignment of plug outlets as well and many people sitting with their laptops. The big, long table in the dead center of the room, or what I like to call it is the Thanksgiving table, provided the most chairs and had elbow room to spare. My favorite table was a big circle table that had a fireplace in the middle. I have never seen one of these kinds of tables inside before. Finally, the outdoor seating consisted of white metal patio chairs and tables that had black and green table umbrellas scatter randomly.
Rating: 5/5 …due to the vast assortment of tables and chairs providing customers with many different options
Trick/Tip: The fireplace table is perfect for a cold rainy or snowy day…you’re welcome
Sound: There was a lot of quiet chatter in the room with people working on projects. The music consisted of an assortment of top hits from the '80s to 2000's. Not typical coffee shop music, but actual music that was upbeat and caught your attention. The music matched the energy in the room and gave you a hyped feeling.
Rating: 4/5 …due to not being classical coffee shop music but still matching the environment around it.
Trick/Tip: If you do not like 80’s to 2000’s top hits then bring some headphones…you’re welcome
Inviting: The two baristas were extremely friendly and gave each customer a smile. There was lots of chatter from the customers which created an upbeat type of feel. They also provided free WIFI that you could access without a password.
Rating: 5/5 …due to an engaging atmosphere that made you feel welcomed
Trick/Tip: Free WIFI. Enough said…you’re welcome
Drink/Food: This coffee shop provided the typical coffee shop drinks such as different coffee blends, lattes, americanos, etc. and also unique seasonal drinks that were different than the standard pumpkin spice lattes. What was unique about this place was there funny names of their lattes and the pictures they drew on their menu of how different drinks are made. The food menu was extensive from breakfast options such as muffins and breakfast burritos, and lunch options such as sandwiches.
Rating: 5/5 …due to the assortment of coffee and food choices for the picking
Trick/Tip: Apparently, they have breakfast all day. So, if you are craving breakfast food randomly and want to get out of the house for a few hours to get work done, then this is your place to go…you're welcome.
Overall, I rate this coffee shop 5/5. Generoasta Coffee is a good place to go to get work done throughout the day, hang out with friends, or go on a date. Many people were talking with one another about projects which gave off a good work-related feel. The access to the internet with many places to sit with access to a plug outlets also gave you this feeling. The drink options were diverse as well as the food options.
