Grove City location

The first coffee shop I wanted to explore was Beans on Broad. I heard so many good things about Beans on Broad from other coffee lovers that it made me really excited to try it out. This is why it is my first pick. I will be rating this coffee shop on its accessibility, ambience, and coffee/food along with providing tricks/tips that you may need to know.

Accessibility: Starting out, Beans on Broad’s address was easy to find and follow on google maps. It was marked well with the patio banner securely mounted on the coffee shop building above the door. Down a one-way road, it was a little tricky to park due to the parallel parking situation; however, great if you find a parking spot in the small lot at the end of the coffee shop building.

Rating: 4/5 …due to first time visitors not knowing about the parking lot at the end of the building.

Trick/Tip: Go to the parking lot at the end of the building...you're welcome

Ambience:

Lights: The atmosphere was more on the darker side with strings of lights intertwined back and forth on the ceiling. They gave off most of the light to the room giving it a more relaxed feel. Lamps for the tables were provided if you needed extra light. The upstairs was brighter than the bottom floor with natural light from the windows.

Rating: 3/5 …due to lack of lighting on the bottom floor

Trick/Tip: Do homework/work on the second floor due to the brighter environment. If you are on a date or hanging out with friends then bottom floor is fine....you're welcome

Seating: There was an assortment of chairs and tables from big wooden tables to comfy couches all resting on the first floor. The second floor had couches by the windows with a long counter table off to one side. More comfy couches were scatter toward the back of the room. Outdoor seating was also available that included metal chairs and tables.

Rating: 5/5 ...due to assortment of seating options

Trick/Tip: Long table counter on the second floor is a great place to study due to the many electrical outlet options...you're welcome

Sound: There was 90's boy band music playing when I first entered this coffee shop but it changed to typical coffee shop jams gently swaying in the background. The music was not overwhelming to the point where people were screaming at the person across the table, but was just loud enough to muffle conversations from across the room. This made it easy to have a conversation with people around your table, but kept it more personal so others could not hear your whole conversation.

Rating: 5/5 ...due to their unique, yet fun, music choice at first but respect for the classic coffee shop jams as well. Also, for the nice acoustics in the room in case you want a private conversation.

Trick/Tip: Second floor was quieter than first floor making it a good place to go to study/get work done...you're welcome

Inviting: This coffee shop was very inviting. There was friendly chatter towards the back of the room from friends talking with one another and college kids working on projects. The employees were joking around with one another behind the main counter space and were very engaged with the customers as well.

Rating: 5/5 ...due to the friendly employees and inviting environment from others

Trick/Tip: Engage with the employees since they are very knowledgeable about the menu and will help you with your order...you're welcome

Coffee/Drink options: The coffee options were plentiful. They provided classic coffee shop items such as lattes, espressos, americanos to more unique options such as frozen, non-bean options, and different syrups and blends. The food options listed an assortment of breakfast items such as muffins, cinnamon rolls, croissants, etc. The lunch menu proceeding with items such as wraps, sandwiches, soups, and garden salads.

Rating: 5/5 ...due to the many options of breakfast or lunch choices

Trick/Tip: Go earlier in the day for better food options because specials of the day run out quickly...you're welcome

Overall, I give this coffee shop a 4 out of 5 rating. The sense of community it built and all the different coffee options made this coffee shop stand out. The lack of lighting and slightly confusing parking made the rating go down; however, this coffee shop is a great place to go to get work done, hang out with friends, or go on a date.
