This next coffee shop is located in Grove City just up the road from Beans on Broad (which was my first blog post coffee shop). Why does Grove City have all these cool coffee shops? I have no clue, but I love it!

Location: Collage Coffee and Art House was not very difficult to find and follow on google maps. This coffee shop is just up the street from Beans on Broad right in the heart of Grove City. There is a one-way street with parallel parking located on both sides of the road. If you continue further down the road you will hit a tiny parking lot off to your left.

Rating: 4/5 …due to parallel park if you do not know there is a parking lot further down the street

Trick/Tip: Unless you want to park right out front of this cute little coffee shop I recommend going all the way to the end of the second building where the parking lot is located…you’re welcome

Ambience:

Light: The light in the room was brighter towards the front where there was a wall of windows. Still being bright enough in the back, but not too bright, were hanging ceiling lights and ceiling fans that produced most light in the room.

Rating: 5/5 …due to adequate and different light options

Trick/Tip: Sit in the back if you are doing computer work so the sun does not reflect off your computer screen when sitting towards the front window.

Seating: There were wooden tables and chairs of all sorts and designs scattered around the room with a couch and comfy chair in the back left corner of the room. One area of the room had a blocked off wall that was tucked into the side which providing privacy from the rest of the room. It almost gives off a standoff vibe when looking at someone sitting in that area but respect to not bother them either.

Rating: 5/5 …due to many seating options and giving a private seating option as well

Trick/Tip: Back couch and chair are the comfiest seating options, but if you want privacy the little blocked off area is the place to go…you’re welcome

Sound: The noise in the room consisted of jazz music in the background just enough for you to hear the musicians but faint enough that you cannot hear what the singers are saying. Other noises consist of the barista making coffee and people talking. The acoustics could be better. You can hear people's full conversations as it also echoes around the room. You can even hear the person at the table next to you sip their coffee to the point where it jolts your friend out a daze.

Rating: 3/5 …due to being able to hear all the different noises around you very clearly

Trick/Tip: Not a good place for a private conversation. Definitely a place to bring a pair of headphones...you're welcome

Inviting: Much chattered filled the air with people’s conversations from the back of the room. The barista gave a friendly smile when entering but was more closed off when people tried to engage in conversation. Something special about this coffee shop was the hidden room off to the side. The counter greets you first, but before hitting the counter a random doorway opens up into a children's playroom where toys and crayons are located. This brings an inviting feel for working parents who have an opportunity for their kids to be distracted for a few minutes while they get work done.

Rating: 4/5 …due to the almost standoff feeling you get from the barista

Trick/Tip: If you have kids, this is your new favorite coffee shop…you’re welcome

Drink/Food: The main menu was slightly hard to follow if you do not know much about coffee. Main coffee options were abbreviated and specific coffee options under the main choices were listed but hard to follow. I believe they have lattes, americanos, and mochas. The specials menu was easy to follow with the pumpkin and maple flavors. The food menu was not extensive. Baked goods such as scones and macaroons seemed to be the only real options.

Rating: 3/5 …due to the confusing menu and the lack of food options

Trick/Tip: The Orange Pumpkin latte is worth a try…you’re welcome

Overall, I rate this coffee shop a 4/5. The atmosphere at Collage Coffee and Art House was interesting with the different art that hung on the walls waiting to be sold. It seemed like a nice place to get homework done but not a good place to go for a more conversational outing. The drinks and food were delicious even though there was not an extensive list of choices of food to pick from. I recommend that if you are going just for a coffee to go, this is your place.
