There is coffee shop that I have been wanting to try that is also located in Butler called Café Main. That makes three coffee shops so far in Butler. Let’s see how this one compares.
Location: Café Main was easy to find and follow on Google Maps. It is located right on Butler’s main street, actually right down the road from Cummings Coffee and Candy Shop (that was mentioned in a previous post). So, for those of you who know and/or been on Butler’s main street know that the parking is less than ideal for those individuals, like myself, that hate to parallel park. After parallel parking, you will walk along the side walk to find Café main only if you are not lucky enough to find a parking spot right outside the building of Café Main. This shop is located in a long building complex being stuck right in the middle of all the other shops. Looking up you will see Café Main above the shops door in white and yellow letters.
Rating: 3/5 …due to parallel parking and limited parking spots as well as not major signs that indicates where the store is located. It almost blends into all the other stores.
Trick/Tip: Keep your GPS on even when walking so you do not pass up the shop. It has yellow letters that blend into the building...you're welcome
Ambience:
Light: The room was lit by natural light coming from the main window front as well as lights built in the ceiling. The room was tiny but still well lit.
Rating: 5/5 …due to adequate lighting. Nowhere in the shop wasn’t bright
Trick/Tip: Sit by the window if you want natural light…you’re welcome
Seating: There was no outside seating when walking up to the shop. Once inside there were a decent amount of tables and chairs scattered around the tiny room. Enough to fill the room but not feel overcrowded. All the same white plastic feel with the same number of chairs per table.
Rating: 3/5 ….due to the adequate number of tables/chairs that were just enough for the tiny room. Not a lot of diversity or outdoor seating though.
Trick/Tip: The tables were a pretty decent size so if you have a group of people meeting up here then there is plenty of room at each table…you’re welcome
Sound: No music was playing, and the staff was not talking to one another. Very quiet. The only noise you heard was from the cars on the busy street outside.
Rating: 1/5 …due to silence
Trick/Tip: If you feel awkward in silence then this is not the place for you. If you are just stopping in to get your order to go then I recommend talking with the staff members so you will feel more comfortable…you’re welcome
Inviting: Walking into the shop, there are cute decorations in the window front that fit the season. Inside, the staff did not talk with one another and they did not seem busy with customers. The one staff member was nice to talk with if you engaged in conversation, but the other one just sat there on her phone.
Rating: 2/5 …due to one friendly employee but nothing else drew you in to stay
Trick/Tip: This is definitely a place to grab a coffee and go…you’re welcome
Drink/Food: The coffee menu was short. Regular pot of coffee or three flavors from a dispensing machine. One size cup for all for $1.50. Their food menu was more extensive which made me feel like this is more of a lunch place than coffee. However, café does mean a restaurant with light drinks and food. This place literally has only a few drink options but a lot of food. The food items go from sandwiches to soups to much more.
Rating: 3/5 …due to no diverse coffee options, but extensive food menu
Trick/Tip: Go here if you are hungry, NOT FOR COFFEE…unless you just want a standard cup of coffee. Also, CASH ONLY…you’re welcome
Overall, I rate this coffee shop 3/5. Easy to find, parking sucks. Very quiet atmosphere but decent number of places to sit down that were adequate for the tiny room space. Not really a coffee shop but definitely a good place to consider for food.
